achilles tendonitis

Hi i have achilles tendonitis in both heals, my doctor told me to do stretching exercises and now im waiting for an ultrasound. Does anyone know what i can do to stop the pain. I have tried prescription co-codamal but it doesnt stop the pain.

I'm neither a doctor nor a pharmacist but I'm surprised that you've been prescribed co-codamol since its constituents are 'pain-blockers' (analgesics) rather than 'anti-inflammatories', which might be more appropriate. The NHS website suggests Ibuprofen (or similar) might be better. It also suggests either ice packs or heat treatment:

Hi Buenchico,
I have taken anti-inflammatories for a year but they did not help so my doctor prescribed co-codamol.I have also tried deep -freeze ointment but it only works for about half an hour and then the pain comes back.
