Any plans to build 'social housing' will have to wait. So will the people who might have lived in those houses. Council services will get worse. Education, the NHS, and the police will all feel the squeeze.
There will be uproar if the cuts affect the most vulnerable in our society Bobbi as voters will begin to wonder why on earth have they bothered to vote.
Major cuts should affect those who can afford to pay the most and most certainly not the Senior Citizens.
While I'm here Bobbi have a look at LoftyLotties Cottage in this thread as it's beautiful.

Try again
Most organisations in the public sector knew several months ago that there were cutbacks coming, my employer's been preparing for quite a long while - the devil will be in the detail.

cheers red, but can't open that will you have another go..

I feel the most vulnerable in society will take the brunt, while disliking New Labour as opposed to its predecessor, I think Cameron will look after his own kind, he doesn't know any other

Have another go Bobbi as the one in red works. Lofty has posted about 4 Pics if you scroll down to her threads and it's worth a look.

seen them, they are beautiful too
I hate to disillusion you redman, but any cuts will fall where they always do,the poor, sick, pensioners, and those who have no way of hitting back.
It was always thus (since my youth)
Who will not suffer?
Those with large incomes, tax havens, large estates, politicians, and anyone who has the professional advice as to where and how to squirrel their money away.

Uproar there may be,uproar there has always been, but Parliament is deaf to the common people.
Uproar will be ignored,as it always has been.
Sadly Mr.V you are probably right and I think no one especially the vulnerable will look forward to it. We will wait and see......
Question Author

ha-ha Mr V
I just wonder why an old Etonian could possibly feel the same as a low earner being squeezed by the short and curlys?
Indeed Bobbi,
and an old Etonian MILLIONAIRE too!
Question Author
yes he is definitely going to understand the most vulnerable of people Mr V

NOT !
Before you all get so emotional about the rich and poor, just remember that under 13years of Labour, the rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer.........Socialism should be ashamed of itself.
AH Sqad,
You make one cardinal error here.
This outgoing(?) government is NOT Socialist, they are basically Left Wing Conservative(calling themselves New Labour),whereas the present Conservatives are basically right wing, that is why people found it so difficult to decide as to who to vote for.
We have not had a true Socialist government since James Callaghan lost in 1979.
The expression "New Labour" was just a coverup to fool Labour(Socialist) voters into imagining that all was well in the Labour "shop",well the shopfront may have stayed the same, but the stock was completely changed.
I say this sadly,as having been poor for much of my life, and certainly not well off now,I realise that my state pension(my ONLY pension,as companies did not in general have pesnsions when I worked)and my pension credit(which is all Elsie and live on) will be the first thing to be lowered or frozen unde ANY party that gets into power.
But we are considered to be the underclass,so we don't matter. In fact I often wonder if politicians know we exist at all, except when they want our votes!
Mr.V.....:-).....point taken.
