If 28a is Large (I'm assuming it's one of the linked answers), then 25 is f?e? (Cable once put under floor). Flex is cable, but I don't get the rest of the clue. I am also stuck on 23d Father charms (but not workers):f?e?c?, 10a Regimental man taking centre from smoking jacket: P?r?? and 8d Chasing women, nobody excluded: ???l. I only seem to have 7 of the 9, so perhaps there are two I've never heard of among these. Deeply grateful for any help.

For 23d (one of the nine connected solutions), 'Fr' for father is folowed by 'enchants' less 'ants' (= 'workers'). For 10a, 'para' takes in the middle consonant of 'smoking'. Another connected solution is 8d: think 'W' for 'women', 'all' for 'nobody excluded'.
