There was an old TV show, might have been a chat show, breakfast show, something like that.

There was one section where someone read out letters or something (they were sad as far as I remember, maybe obituaries), and there was a piece of music that always played.

The music was sad itself, relatively slow, I can hum it but that isn't much use to you :P I think it was played on strings.

I heard a section of it recently and remembered I really liked it and was wondering if anyone can remember what I mean and tell me the name of the song.

Cheers

Are you getting confused with Our Tune that was a feature on Simon Bates' old Radio 1 show from the 80's?

It sounds like "Our Tune" to me - the piece of music was from Franco Zefirelli's 1968 film "Romeo and Juliet" by Nino Rota.

I agree, it definately soundlike that mawkish, maudlin Simon Bates guff.
think this did actually get a slot on a tv programme once.

Good Morning with Ann Diamond and Nick Whatsisface featured such a slot. I believe the Simon Bates jobbie was on Sky.
