photoshop- how to invert a selection

Hi

if i am in photoshop and I have selected say a circle with the select tool and I actually want to select everything ont eh outside of the circle rather then inside it, I know in the past I did somethign and it reverses what you select, but i cannot remember what it is.any help welcomed please

Off the menu bar at the top of the window: select > inverse...

Or right-click on your circle and 'Select inverse'.
