Aarrggh..it's gone from the bottom of the screen. One minute it was there, and now it's gone. I've had my curser off the screen at the bottom and slowly tried to pull the task bar up, but it wont show. I've turned the laptop off and  then restarted it, but still it avoids me.

I've moved the cursor as far down as I can, but it didn't turn into a double vertical arrow,(as it said on a similar problem as mine,  on 28-3-04)

Hubby will be home in an hour, and I hope I can coax it back before then.

Any ideas will be welcomed. If I minimise, I'll have to start again, so i'll have a look around Answerbank for a while!!

Can you check>START>SETTINGS>TASKBAR and START MENU and post the settings
As above, I think you might have 'Auto-Hide' enabled.
If it isn't 'Auto-Hide', check also that you haven't accidentially clicked and dragged it to another side of the screen. The Windows Taskbar doesn't have to sit on the bottom. Hover around edges of the screen to see whether you get the double-arrows to indicate that you can pull the bar outwards into view.

Thanks everyone..tried all those, still no joy. It looks like I'll have to call someone out over the weekend. Once again thanks for your suggestions.
