How do I stop my yahoo mail account sending spam messages

My Yahoo mail account seems to be being used by spammers who are using my address book to send out unsolicited spam.
I don't use the account any more but is there anyway I can get it closed down?

Change the password on it.

Sorry, missed the part about closing it al together, changing the password will stop the spam, but to close it altogether click below
