Laptop suggestions please!
2 Answers
Hey all,
Looking to get a laptop - and wondering what the best processor is to currently get? Not that fussed on budget really, just looking for some advice.
Decent enough to play games, but also good for anything else it is to be used for!
Ta! :-)

In terms of processors, Intel recently brought out a new range of processors with the numbers i3, i5 and i7 (and different models within those numbers).
i3 are the cheapest, i5 the next, and i7 the most expensive.
For most home users an i3 is fine, but if you have the money go for an i5. An i7 will be very expensive.
You can get a low end laptop for about £300, but going up to say £400 should get you a decent laptop, though probably not good enough for gaming.

VHG is spot on, to add a bit on the graphics cards, ATI have the edge in mobile graphics at the moment (IMO) but the next best cards are nvidia ones, any thing with a Intel graphics set is not at all suitable for heavyweight games.
make sure it's got dedicated graphics memory, 512MB is OK 1GB is better (obviously)
