Why do we dream?

Last week on Jury Service, quite a few of the jurors said they had dreamed about the case so I guess if something is playing heavy on your mind you will dream about it

I was told that we dream otherwise we die because our brains must be active at all times.

Well you can go with Freud's ...royal road to the unconscious....which i believe...or wish fulfillment..(which i dont believe)....basically i think that dreams are a combination of stuff that happened during the day and other things from the unconscious...dreams are a metaphoric way of telling us something that we need to attend to....

When we're sleeping the conscious part of the mind is turned off. The unconscious is still working away and some of that is remembered. Nothing more. They have no significance

Sorry ...dont agree with ya Sandyroe....dreams are very significant to me....i even have dreams that have signalled danger quite a few times.....and many more that have actually come true!

any advice on how to dream. i rarely dream, or maybe i just forget them. would be interesting if i could keep a dream diary
