today, for a laff i bought a few little sweets and hid them around my boyfriends flat, with extremely easy clues as to where the next one was...i thought hed laugh and be happy with his treats...

he calls me up after the 2nd one moaning that he was tired and just wanted to go an get food and he couldnt get the next clue...so i began to explain it a bit so he got it, and he just instantly moaned he couldnt do it...all shirty and huffy...so eventually he got it...an then moaned about the next one instantly too - even though he got that clue immediately - because they were easy.
i expected him to just get them lot in about 10mins and say thanks for the treats...

i then got a bit annoyed with him - i was just trying to do something funny and nice for him

then he defended his moaning by saying that he wasnt 5 years old

any way various arguments etc, he is mad at me for being annoyed with him for not wanting to think for more than 2 seconds on the clues...and because he just wanted food as it turned out he hadnt eaten all day (hardly my fault)

i expected the whole thing to take him about 5-10 mins and for him to laugh

and though i understand him being a bit tired and hungry after a day at work...am i being out of order for being a bit peeved with him for his ungrateful attitude?

would you get in a huff if your loved one tried to make a little game for you in order to cheer him up?

Yes, if I got home from work and was expected to run around looking for sweets I'd tell you to grow up too.
Occasionally these well meaning acts go wrong and the numpties make a fuss about nothing. Obviously he wasn't in the mood this time. Let him sort himself out the miserable git.

jan its hardly 'running around' is it...? hardly a matter of urgency either...
its a few treats hidden under a rug, in a jar and in a box in ome room...with clues like "snug as a (chocolate) bug under a rug" - very easy and a joke....so get a grip

i understand he wasnt in the mood...but why moan? as though id committed a crime? why not just do it later?
he acted up because he was hungry, clearly he did not want to play games in order to eat. chances are he will soften once he has eaten.

its not that what you did was a bad idea, it just happened to be the wrong thing at the wrong time.
why didn't he go and have something to eat and then play your game? That would have made more sense surely? Seems a bit of a silly thing to have a huff at one another about. Much more serious things to argue about like how to empty a dishwasher!!!! (Last week-me and mr mum- him going off on one as I said you should empty bottom of dishwasher first!!!) LOL
I would think it was a nice jesture and go along with it whether I thought it was childish or not. You made an effort therefor so should he!
BTW when were sweets food - why couldn't he just get something from the fridge?
Ignore me joko, I'm just not in a very good mood today.

actually they were crisps and chocolate and pop...and a miniature of JD...

he got the crisps straightaway too...

thing is, he likes stuff like this, he like our little games and does things too...so didnt get the im not 5 remark...he only said that ahes later when he was defending his actions...so i dont think he really thought that
I would be annoyed at his ungratefulness. Sod him - grumpy bugger. =)
Are you familiar with the saying "a hungry man is an angry man".

Don' t feel bad, he probably got more important things on his mind.
Just remember this - the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

I shall resist adding "with a knife".
