Firstly, Beverly Hills is simply 'bever', meaning a light repast between meals, plus 'lay', meaning non-clerical, as in 'lay preacher', minus 'E' being a musical key. If it's any consolation, 'bever' appears in none of my dictionaries, including my big fat new Collins Unabridged! So who thinks up these questions?! Not from this planet.....
Secondly, the original Q2 was answered correctly by sddsddean. Give him/her some stars - I gave up after 'Lake' (from 'kale') which I tried to pair up with anagrams of duchess, countess and so on, overlooking 'dame' which gives you 'Mead'! So you won't now need to develop your 'Savoy' theory, but good thinking.
What about the new Q2, the coin one? Do you have an answer yet? Regardz, ja.
two other questions I'm having trouble with are:-
1. A salmon (one caught in swedish waters).
2. Lose a key from a pivot and mix.
these clues are No3, immediately after London Heathrow and clue No. 97 immediately before London Heathrow (on the return jouney). From this one assumes that they are the first place arrived at in America (?possibly the airport) both No3 and No 97 are followed by Los Angeles. Does this give you any ideas
2. Buffalo Crag (a 'Buffalo' is a variety of American Silver Dollar, depicting the mighty beast itself. There are also Buffalo Nickels). Crag of course is a steep rock face.
Can't unscramble 'WEAN CARE' - need a bigger map of NY/PA. Suggest you post this as a new Question. Good Luck - gotta go, grass growing.
