Try a reclaimation company if you want secondhand ones.

Reclamation might work if you are after secondhand windows to go in a new build. But the plethora of sizes means you would very lucky to find something that worked on a retrofit. A couple of ideas. Do you need actual sash windows or do you desire the sash window appearance? There are some quite clever modern wooden products to the modern standard of modern glazing thickness and seals around the opening parts that don't let in draughts that are actually top-hinged windows. They look like sash because they have two window panels in a deepish recess, with the top panel overhanging the lower panel. Its called double hung, but they don't slide up and down - they open outwards, hinged from above. Sometimes both panels open, sometimes just the top one. One company that makes them is the Sashless Window Company in Northallerton. They don't seem to run a website, and supply major building companies, I think - so they will probably only supply one of their standard products - not made-to-size. There are probably others. Look on the Jeldwen website at their standard products, maybe.

Here - found it! - this sort of thing?? http://www.jeld-wen.com/windows/wood/premium/product.cfm?product_id=38&groupid=

Thank you all
Buildersmate thats perfect thank you very much !
I've recently discovered that you can get proper wooden sash windows from Europe at extremely reasonable prices if you shop around. They can be made to look exactly like British windows and the build quality is far higher than you'd get in the UK. Sometimes you can get them direct from the manufacturer but usually you can find a UK distributor. I got mine from The German Window Company - www.germanwindows.co.uk - they were by far the best quote of all the usual sash windows companies, and although more expensive than recycled windows, I trust they'll fit and last a bit longer!
There is one place where you can get extreme good value for money, I use extreme rarely but here it applies, I got the quote within an hour of sending them a mail whereas you have to wait weeks from other companies. Its a London based business, took about 4 weeks to get the windows after I put in a down-payment and I was well happy with the product. http://www.sollex.co.uk check the site its worth having a browse
I don't know if you're sorted yet, but this lot in Tamworth have got loads of wooden sash windows - all new but at really sharp prices (other types of wooden windows as well). No upvc though.
