Molly, have you read the book ?
Question Author
My mum has the book somewhere but it looks aweful big just to explain it (and i have revision to do), or does it say the different meanings in the first couple of pages?
The entire book explains about the various puncuation marks in the English language and how their usage can fundamentally change the meaning of a series of words. It is also full of examples.

If this is part of your revision, I suggest that you locate the copy and read through it thoroughly.

If it isn't and is just an idle thought..............get back to your revision !

pandas eats; shoots and leaves.

a person is in a cafe, he eats, shoots then leaves.

is there any others?
Question Author
Just an idle thought . . . .
It's all based on a story of a panda that walks into a bar/restaurant, orders food, fires a gun into the ceiling then walks out.
The punch-line involves the phrase 'eats, shoots and leaves'.
The inclusion of the comma after the word 'eats' is the critical point of the joke.
