It is supposed to be quite within the rules of table manners to eat asparagus with your fingers.

Do you do this?

No. I use a knife and fork.
knife and fork !
Use your fingers.
I'm happy to do either but usually take my cue from those I'm eating with..........which could possibly mean that we're 'all' watching each other to see who does what first :o)
You can never make eating asparagus with a knife and fork salacious..............but with you fingers...............you can ;-)
We are talking about the dinner table aren't we?
ummmm....morning my love...;-)
Morning Sqaddy :-) xx
Someone elses fingers...
Eating out, in company, it can be either but at home it's definitely fingers...........
Toni.......whatever!..............
Noooooooooooo knife and fork....
I sometimes stick a fork into the fat end, and then eat it from the thin end until you get to the fork.
The key question.... are there finger bowls as part of the place setting no finger bowls no finger food...
but the way some people eat asparagus cold showers should be provided, especially if it is dripping with butter... Always good to get their attention then bite the tip off really sharply and watch them shift in their seats and wince....
