what to do?

Hi everyone, im probably going to rant on a bit but if you feel you need to give advice etc feel free cause im not really sure how to go about things. Basically i dont really like my family, i dont like the way they feel its ok to constanly bitch and gossip about one another behind eachothers back, i dont like the way they none of thm have a job between them or even have the desire to work, i dont like the way that they feel its ok to scrounge of my elderly grandmother who has dementia and i dont like the way that they feel its ok to smoke and aswear around there and my kids when i used to visit. infact i would even go as far as to say that i have no desire whatsoever to see any of them again. The last time i went to visit my nan with the kids, they were all sat there doing there usual daily routine of the above, least to say i didnt stay long and made my excuse to leave and have not been back since. We came out stinking of ashtrays and have no doubt been the topic of there bitchyness since. I can now see why my mother and father moved us all away from these people when we were babies. Dont get me wrong im not stuck up, i come from humble backrounds i grew up on a council estate and We werent a well off family but my mam nad dad worked hard to get us by. I just really dont like these people at all and what they stand for. Do any of you have families that you just dont get on with? Am i wrong to just want to see to my own family? rant over!!!!!!!! lol

If the answer is no then I don't see them. the smoking and bad language around the children would be reason enough in my book. One branch of my family are like that. we have nothing in common apart from blood and if we we together more than 5 mins I expect some would be spilt...
sounds just like my family, my cousins srounge off my nan, dont visit her every day when she basically lives in an annex on their house. When they do see her they are rude and swear. I wouldnt never ever use some of the words they do at my nan. They put her in a home weeks on end whilst they swan off to america. They are benefit cheats and fraudulent!! Wooosaaaaaa, you're right it does help get it off your chest lol Luckily they dont live close
I wouldn't be suprised if your family are my husbands family, we try to avoid his mum and his mums side of the family where possible,They consist of people you really wouldn't want to meet or spend time with. I come from a bit of a well to do family and couldn't believe it when i first met some of my husbands family. He is the only one out of his family to go to uni, buy a house and try to better himself (and probably his only family member not to smoke). I hate it when we have to go see my mother in law as well as we come out smelling like an ashtray too so i can sympathize, especially when my mother in law holds my little girl on her knee whilst smoking and blows it in her face, i want to scream. They are all a bunch of thieving scrongers and i hate it when they make out like this country owes them, when they have done nothing except take from the tax payer and sit on their arses.
