Media player problem!

I have some 3000 tunes in Windows Media library and play music for an hour or two most days, and have done so for the past 15 years with no trouble. (I have changed computer and upgraded OS about 4 times.)Six months ago I installed Windows 7 with no problems until last Monday when towards the end of every track I get a blip.(imagine playing a vynil record and knocking the pick up which jumps a couple of grooves
that sort of blip) Playing any track from any album the same thing!
I have all the original CDs and picked one at random, deleted that album from computer and ripped back into Media player and on playback got the same blip on every track. I installed iTunes and ripped the same CD into that and playback was perfect! I have a usb transmitter and small wireless speaker which I move around with me at times and play back through this gets no blips. I reinstalled and reactivated Windows 7 hoping to clear out any bugs but I still get this blxxdy blip every time. Can anyone come up with some answers or suggestions before this computer is sitting in front garden by way of upstairs window?

Thanks for the reply Chuck, I took the link, but it is a bit gobbledy ***. It seems I have to alter a setting in Program EPU-4. How do nI do that? Tried trouble shooter and Windows Forum, but am still in the dark.

Sounds like the best thing to do is just use iTunes instead. You can just let iTunes find your music itself (which can be done automatically or manually). Hopefully all your ripped music was ripped to mp3, not wma, files; if your files are wma then iTunes will convert them to aac (I think) and you'll end up with loads of duplicates of the same music.
If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch you can get the Remote app which allows you to control iTunes on your PC from the iPhone/iPod.

Yes Skids I did briefly consider that but rejected if. That would be by-passing the prioblem not solving it, and I prefer Windows Media (when it's working right) over iTunes., Thanks for the suggestion.
