Blu Ray Combi packs?

Just bought a Blu-ray player so i thought i would buy a few titles to bulid up a collection of BR discs.
But why are some titles sold in combi packs, both Blu Ray and DvD disc formats?

Surley if you have bought a BR player (which should also play Dvd disc's) there is no reason to buy a film which has two disc's of different format?

Would you ever play the dvd version?

Your gonna find this hard to believe, but some people have DVD players in their cars, bedrooms, caravans, kid's rooms, etc., as well as the main one in the living room.
