People seem to be more friendly and warm in the north so perhaps add some of the people you worked closest with.

But if you add your supervisor be careful what you post for them to see as it may affect their judgement of you, and you may require a reference from them.
Sophie, we are banned from using facebook at work, so yes, you might be putting them in an awkward situation. I've had this happen sometimes when colleagues who I barely know seems to have invited everyone in their address book to join their personal FB page, we just have to decline automatically,. If you do go ahead - don't be offended if they don't join you, lots of companies have very strict policies about the use of social networking sites on work computers, or with work email addresses.
Yeah but what if they access it from home?
I don't do FB but my partner and daughter both do and they often complain about work colleagues or people they barely know sending friend requests, it's daft.

Perhaps you could drop by to say hello sometime sophie and judge whether any of them would want to get to know you better.

Molly where I work we are not allowed to use networking sites either in fact we are discouraged from disclosing anything about work even from home.
I personally wouldn't no.

Whilst im sure they weren't in your case, my own personal paranoia would be thinking they were only nice to me in that week because they more or less had to.
Absolutely prudie, we are the same (I think we have the same overall employer...)

I have thought the same boxy!
Did you have to do the ridiculous on-line training that apart from FB type stuff covered using a mobile and laptop on a train etc etc etc?
O yes. IG on-line took me 4 hours (the version we have anyway) - and how to ring ahead if you are sending a fax etc.??

and call the police and security immediately if you left your laptop in a meeting room!!

I'm just going for 30 mins sun before we have to go to the 'in-laws' for a BBQ (yawn)
Some of it might be local but some of it is national policy.....

Can't say I've had that, but the police came round mighty quick when I set the burglar alarm off going into work the other morning!
My FB friends are the people I class as friends in real life. Mostly people I know well from my work who are now travelling the world or family who live away from me. I do not add anyone I don't know personally quite well. It is your choice, they wont add you if they dont want to.
