16 Answers
stupid question but i just did work experience at a shop last week, and i liked the people there, they were really nice. i have finished the placement there now, but is it awkward if i add them on facebook when i only known them for a week? and i dont know if they really liked me like that much of a friend... i didnt even know their surnames i just came across them on facebook from the company page so they'd be wondering how i got it... i dont is it not just a bit awkward?!

I've had this happen sometimes when colleagues who I barely know seems to have invited everyone in their address book to join their personal FB page, we just have to decline automatically,. If you do go ahead - don't be offended if they don't join you, lots of companies have very strict policies about the use of social networking sites on work computers, or with work email addresses.
I don't do FB but my partner and daughter both do and they often complain about work colleagues or people they barely know sending friend requests, it's daft.
Perhaps you could drop by to say hello sometime sophie and judge whether any of them would want to get to know you better.
Molly where I work we are not allowed to use networking sites either in fact we are discouraged from disclosing anything about work even from home.
