font size in email

I've got bog standard Yahoo mail and must have inadvertently clicked something cos the font size is minimum - have used the pale blue 'options' choice in the top right hand corner of the window and changed it to 12, then saved changes on the left hand side but nothing has happened. Be grateful for any help. Thank you

sorry, forgot to mention the whole page is in small print not just the email I'm writing.

Hold down CTRL and either roll the mouse wheel or use + and - keys to change the size.
