What is the difference between industry analysis and competitive analysis?

I believe competitive analysis is what this is - the analysis of direct brand competitors.
In contrast, I think industry analysis is concerned with analysing those in the same industry. Using the same example as previous this would include all those that make refreshments or soft-drinks. In this case Coca-Cola would be competing not only against Pepsi, but also those that make bottled water etc.
They are used by companies to analyse those in direct competition and those who they are also effectively competing against but they might not otherwise realise.
As I said, I think that's what it is based on my marketing module but you might wanna check out a marketing text book or something that would have a better definition.
