Generally just the nasal spray and eye drops work so I agree, pollen count was damn high!
If you can get some local honey it really does work (you take one teaspoon a day and on most days it does fine - though the first day you take it it really does your head in, but after that it works a treat). I can't get any local honey at the moment (some bee problem apparently) so I have been taking Asda 1-a-day tablets and they are great (84p for 7!!!).
Hi NQ.I think I have similar problems, runny nose and eyes but also a heavy chesty cough. I find a mixture of one tablespoonfull of honey, the juice of one lemon "stirred, not shaken" into a glass of hot water eases the problem for a while. I tend to make a large jug of this...increasing the strengh of course so that I can take a drink as and when needed, it works just as well hot or cold. Hope this helps.
I get it every year, I seem to be allergic to all the sorts of pollen so I am on an antihistamine (with GP approval) from March-Oct every year. He also prescribes anti-allergen eye drops and I have a nasal spray which I rarely need. Strangely it didn't start until I was about 30, not a lifelong problem.
