i ALWAYS recall my dreams...always... i think maybe it's because i am a light sleeper. My husband (who practically goes into a coma every night he sleeps so sound) NEVER recalls his.
because most of them are not that exciting. i get into lots of trouble as i sometimes provide a commentary for mine. mr kicker is not always impressed. ahem! x
We drean to allow our subconcious mind to assimilate all the information it has received during the day. No-one is entirely sure if dreams serve this purpose - it is the perceived wisdom. Backing it up is the fact that a human will die from lack of sleep faster than he will die of lack of food or water.
The ability to reccall dreams can be trained. You need to keep a paper and pen by your bed and write down your thoughts as soon as you wake. A repitition of this action will eventually lead to additional recall of dreams - but will sadly not assist in the explanation of what they mean.
I dream a great deal and also have loads of nighmares. I also suffer from recurring dreams. I am a light sleeper and I usually remember my dreams in great detail. So much so that a bad dream haunts me the following day. I sometimes cannot remember what is real or what is a dream. I am an exceedingly anxious person.
Mr LL, who is a heavy sleeper and not a worrier can rarely remember dreaming.
