I've used a pressure cooker for years - own 3 different sizes!
My mum used one & I use it to cook dhals/letils in quick time & they're excellent for curried meat - I cook mutton (which can take upto 2 1/2 - 3 hours on the hob) in 15 mins in the cooker. Nothing tastes bland, its the flavourings you put into the dish that'll give it taste. I swear by mine & would be lost without it!

Cheers for the input folks!
My mother had a pressure cooker and used it for over 25 years till the handle came off, when she bought another one. However it was only used for cooking veg, as the lot could be done in one go. All meat, whether roast or stewed, was done in a slow oven.
