Eddie that really isn't true, we ordered a new door seal off the internet and fitted it in about ten minutes. We needed a funny tool to do it that I had to borrow off a friend who is a tradesman but that might vary depending on the make/model.
If it is the type of seal that has a magnet strip in it, yes. If you lift the seal from the inside you'll see screws or clips that hold the inside door molding in place. Undo them (partly) and you should be able to removed the old seal and replace with a new one. You need to ask the manufacturer of the make where you can buy a seal. As EDDIE said, it may not be worth the cost.

There is the odd fridge/freezer door specialist who make up their own seal and fit for cheaper than you can buy a brand seal. See the yellow pages in you local area.
You can try looking at this site. Make sure you have the make and model number available.

Thanks all, it appears that there is no way to remove the seal alone, so it looks like a new one is the order of the day! Thanks again.
