Checking a foreign address online

I have a friend who has moved to Sri Lanka. On a recent correspondence she wrote her address down but as she has such terrible writing, I am having trouble deciphering it. Is there a web site that will allow me to test the validity of some potential addresses rather than writing a whole load of letters? In other words: an online Sri Lankan Autoroute. BTW I don't have her telephone number nor email address.
