I wear the non wired for that reason, they are very good and supportive and I have an ample bosum..
I also wear non wired, although expensive, from Rigby and Peller. Really comfy. Might be worth forking out for a really comfy bra.
There are bras available that have the wired 'welded' into the fabric rather than threaded into a channel, these are much more comfortable and don't dig in.
front fasteners can be a pain as well
i usually put a little slit in it at one of the ends and pull it out :) ,i usually buy non underwired but if i see one i like and it has it i take it out
Sounds like you`re wearing a bra that`s too tight. It shouldn`t be painful
Yes if the wires hurt you the bra fit was wrong or you have changed shape, also, if the wires poke out and do not have coloured tips you have washed them on too hot a wash, the tips go white when washed at the wrong temp.
I would agree that you are wearing a bra that is the wrong size for you. I never have a problem and wear underwired bras all the time. Bras shouldn't dig into you under any circumstances.

The coloured tips go white when washed at the wrong temp, the manufacturers do that on purpose to be able to assess any claims of faulty purchases, over time and several washes that will also happen.
I'm sure you all know, but you shouldn't wash underwired bras in a machine (or if you do put them in a pillow case first)

I used to be a washing machine engineer and I couldn't even begin to count the amount of times I had to go and take people washing machines apart just to extract a bra wire that had got caught in the machine.

you're wearing the wrong size, you need to up the number
I always wear underwired bras & never have a problem with them.

I wear lacey, unpadded, underwired ones from the TU range & they are very, very comfortable.
