Is my nine year old to young for a rock concert
8 Answers
If youre good enough you're old enough is my moto. My son wants to see Bon Jovi at the O2 as he is currently in the beatles, ACDC and Bon Jovi thanks to Guitar hero. my Ex Wife thinks he is to young. I first took him to Arsenal when he was four and I found that he is mature and happy. I tend to introduce him to stuff a little above his age without forgetting he is still a child. I think the concert would be OK, it is Bon Jovi and they tend to cater for the ladies as I discovered before. My Wifes family tend to wrap there kids up in cotton wool, never take them to football because of swearing ( the fans not my wifes family) and my son who never swears has proved them wrong, they dislike the fact that I take my son to the pub for lunch and keep him up late when he spends his weekend with me.

Ignore markray, us intelligent folk knew you meant he's INTO those bands
If he's been to premiership football then he's used to large crowds, only problem I could foresee would be his young eardrums because I've been to rock concerts before and have come away from them with my ears literally ringing (which once lasted 2 days because I was stood too close to the speakers)

Sounds like a good motto!
I think nine is fine for a gig. O2 is seating isn't it so theres no problem of getting hurt by the crowd. The seating can be really high so it could be a bit scary if he is scared of heights. If you were to go to a standing venue then I'd recomend not going too near the front were the mosh pitts are and more likely for a small boy to get hurt.
Sound like a cool dad taking him to a gig and it's a nice thing to do together - I still go to gigs with my dad and I'm 17 now! haha
