noise in engine

hi, i have a quad bike, its a honda trx 200, i seem to be having a problem with the pull start, it keeps jamming, i then remove the cover n turn the engine round with a spanner it turns fine, however, when i put the pull start back it jams after a couple of pulls, anyone now what the matter could be? i also have a problem with the engine, when iut starts there a noise that comes from it like a bell noise it sounds like its coming from the timing area? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Sounds like a pull-start mechanism ratchet or pawl has broken.
Look for a replacement assembly on eBay like these ...
