I just heard on the bbc news that apparantly the gcse science exams are too easy, I kind of agree, even the extension science which apparantly is nearly a-level stuff isn't that hard.

But I did notice a difference between the year 10 and 11 exams, these were slightly challenginger but I answered all the questions and last year got two as and two a*s one of which was 50/50 but because I do extra science, that one doesn't count . . . .

I would agree with the latter but don't want to insult SB :-)

Is it true that you can get a 'C' grade by just turning up?
Question Author
No sandy, on the foundation you would get a 'u'.

On the higher you might get a 'd'.

But the get a 'c', including coursework, you need to get about half the total marks available for the whole course, but this varies between 40 and 60% depending on the subject.
IQ tests are supopsed to be created such that prior knowledge does not play a part, and so no matter the culture, or whatever, the score would be valid. But nothing is perfect and you can't take knowledge out of the equation altogether. So there is bound to be some residual bias.
