Using an .iso file

I've burnt off a program from an .iso file to a CD using ImgBurn. I'm supposed to run setup, enter a product key and then allow the program to install. After this, I have to double click on a .reg file to update the registry and then use the program as normal.
The problem I have is that the CD only contains the .iso file (ImgBurn says it doesn't support the .reg file) Bearing in mind, that the program needs to be installed on a computer located elsewhere, how can I transfer the .reg file to the PC? Can I copy the .reg file to a USB flash drive and use that? Should I copy the .reg file to the desktop for example from the flash drive and activate it from there?

It sounds like you have just copied the .iso file onto the CD instead of actually "burnt" it. An .iso file is an "image" of a CD and needs to be burnt onto another CD before it can be used. (N.B. there is software which can "mount" an iso file and treat it like a "virtual" CD).

That is why you can only see the iso file on the CD, not setup.exe, etc...

Thanks Mark. I'm very confused. The instructions said I needed to mount the image with PowerIso or Magiciso etc. As payment is necessary for these, I looked on the web and was directed to ImgBurn. I need to get the file onto a CD rather than use it on the download PC. How can I do this?

Use free cd/dvd burner called cdburnerxp. One of the options is to burn an iso file.

hmmm, I've answered this once, looking at it again I'm backing out because the only time I've seen .reg files used is for illegal software downloads.

If that is the case here, simple answer, buy the software and it will come on a nice CD for you.

Having looked at the CD contents, I have 19 files with titles corresponding to the parts of the program that should be there along with a setup.exe file. Does this mean that the CD can be used as it is?

No it can't. What you need to do is to throw the CD away, and then buy a legitimate copy of the software.

OK. You're right. The risk is too great. I've just binned the disc and files.
