When I try to write a 'new document' all the settings seem to have gone haywire. There's loads of tools I don't need and yet I can't find the simple font settings or print size buttons. Also, it's proving virtually impossible to reset the margins to simple A4. Could anyone kindly tell me if it is possible to restore the origional Windows 98 word processing settings? Regards, Ned.

I suspect you have inadvertently changed the tool bars which can be rectified by either simply dragging toolbar sections (are they hidden by >> signs?) or using the view-toolbars pull-down menu. Also, how has the page been setup? As A4? (File-Page Setup). If you really think it is fubared then you can repair it (Start-Settings-Control Panel-Add and Remove Programs then remove Office 97: it will give you an option to repair or reinstall it). BTW you must have the Office 97 CD. In all seriousness, if you use Office 97 a lot then buy a book about it (since Office 97 is an old product, they can be found in cheap bookshops).
