So what's on your menu/agenda today?

I have a hankering for something hot and spicy... maybe a chilli with lots of hot pepper sauce. I think I may take a drive to Redditch and do a little shopping first.

Yo guys !

I've been walking Alf up the woods, just got back, put some laundry on and I'm now tucking into a huge bowl of mixed berries with cherry yoghurt on top.

Eve... good luck with the cookery lesson ! Roast beef sounds yummy...

Ummmm... thinking of you today. x x

Cazzz... Chicken is one of my favourite sunday meals.

Sqad... I too am a master of deveining prawns. God, I really miss paella. :-(
Gee....are ya going to come back with something other than face cream this time NoM......lol ((HUGS))

I'm just teasing...
Can't you make Paella anyway??
Question Author
I'm actually going for some eye cream. Can you believe I went into Bromsgrove yesterday looking for any outlet that sold Estee Lauder. I asked the lady in Boots and she told me the nearest place to buy it would be Redditch. For the love of God.... !!!

Paella... well, I used to buy the arroz and caldo in kit form in Carrefour. If I could buy some caldo (stock) I could probably whip one up. I've got a bag of the arroz bomba that I brought back with me. But then there's the fish too. When can I buy calamares pequenos (baby squids)??
A decent supermarket should sell them. Our local Morrisons does.
What sort of stock do you use??Knorr do little pots of concentrated stock that is quite good....chicken or veg if I am not mistaken.
Of course, if it is fish stock you may have a problem.

You should have brought a few kits back with you........
Question Author
Pasta... they stopped selling the kits about 8 weeks before I came back. I started buying the rice separately from the cartons of fish stock. I like to use cartons of ready-made stock as opposed to stock cubes. I never cook enough fish to make my own stock.
If you have a local fish market, they may be able to sell/give you enough bits to make stock.
And as I said-the Knorr is concentrated stock...not cubes.
Question Author
Yeah.... I ought to have a bash at it.
I've never tried paella..

I love it. I always served it with big lemon wedges on top, and I like it when it slightly sticks to the bottom of the dish.
Roast beef, yorkshire pudding, Roast potatoes and parsnips, baby carrots, whole fine green beans, brocolli, new potatoes, horseradish sauce, rich gravy.
black forest gateau, fresh cream sherry trifle, apple pie with cinnamon ice cream, or fresh fruit salad for pud

Cold cuts, buttered rolls, salad, crisps, scones with cream and my homemade rasp/strawberry jam, Farmhouse fruitcake for supper
ummmmm. you´ve never lived. paella es cojonudo!!!
i agree with nm, it tastes really good when you get some of it sticking to the bottom of the paella pan. theres 2 types here, there is paella mixta( a mixture of meat and fish with the rice) or my fave paella mariscos( paella and seafood) yes it really needs lemon wedges to go with it.
Man hostage is currently making bacon and eggs. Going to eat that, have a nice shower, indulge in some nekked sun bathing if it warms up enough (there's a spot here that no one can see you and it's a complete sun trap, so nice!) and then possibly rudies before going out for a curry this evening and then back to second week at new job tomorrow, (which I think I like but I'm too new to decide yet).
I am restaurant bound with my partners family, so I am unsure what we will be eating. I personally am not in the mood for going out but will try to put on a smile lol
Where are you Piggy?
