Im not being maudlin nor being a killjoy but its something which has to be achnowledged.

I have been to see my Dad -im lucky.

I dont agree with it at all as solely for the purposes of commercialism it causes a lot of people a lot of pain.I can assure you it does so theres no ifs buts or maybes.

So cherish your Dad everyday -as every day you have him is a day you should be thankful for.

So for all the people who today are upset and visiting graves my love and thoughts are with you x

have to agree with lopsi that there is always going to be someone upset no matter what day it is. But I do txt or call my closest mates that arent fortunate to tell their dads today how much they love them.

That was the point I was making 4get -anyone who has lost anyone thinks about them everyday I should think. So purely for commerialism why make it more painful for those who have lost and yeah that goes for any day which is deemd to be set aside.Vultures with not a care for anyone and thats why I thought lipos was being obtuse as they had chosen not to read my post properly.Ive noticed -when I post-theres a couple of obtuse people who seem to think im zipped up the back and i dont get it -but i do...............just chose to ignore them -whatever floats their little boats.

Thats very thoughful of you 4get.

I miss my darling dad everyday, I don't need a special day to reflect or remember him...even though I was only 9....he was a big part of my life then. Hugs to all x

Its only commercial if people make it that way. I think its nice to just show them how much you appreciate them on that day and every day.
my mom died 8yrs ago, i was there in her final hours, i still miss her, my dad died a year ago, and i haven´t shed any tears yet, i think its cuz he lost his dependence 3 yrs previuously, and just kept slipping away from us every day.
Its fine Dris - nice to think people with dads are thinking about those who don't! =)
I lost my dad on Fathers day last year :O{ So tomorrow is his anniversary. It was nice spending time this morning thinking of him, even though I did have more than a little cry. Got to do it all again to morrow....Miss you Dad.
