Death Certificate
10 Answers
I have just received a form for a death certificate from the Identity and Passport Service. This is new to me.To save me time and trouble of them returning it, I wonder if any one knows if I have to answer all the questions as there are some answers I do not know. i.e. Occupation & unsure about parents. Thank you.

( I walked passed the regsiter office in Southport today and it';s a tiny office on the side of the town hall) anyway, why not order it online, pay 9.25, BUT add as much corroborating info that you know in the box provided:
https://www.gro.gov.u...ertificates/Login.asp
or have you already done that and they have sent you the form for further info?

The person I am looking for died in Brentford which is now under Ealing.
They could not find him so they told me to send it to Southport, which I did.
I gave them all the details I had, DOB DOD Vol No Page No from Ancestry.
This they returned together with the form. The letter they sent me reads as follows. GRO have recently introduced application forms which have been designed and
developed to be electronically scanned direct into our new application
database rather than having to be individually input. Therefore postal
applications will only be accepted on the new style forms which must be
completed in full and returned by post to the GRO office with payment
of £9.25.
As it states complete form in full there is my problem

so all you need to do is go to the link I've given you and pay for it online with your card and it will not need anything else but the vol and page number, and this is why, all registrations were copied and sent to the central register qarterly by the local register office which will mean anything lost at a register office, say in the blitz, has a surviving copy. so order it online and they will find the copy registration.
