extreme fatigue

I can barely move today and keep wanting to sleep,this is very unusual for me. I took some piriton last night for my hay fever is which sometimes makes me tired but is it possible this could still be affecting me today?has anyone else experienced this with antihistamines?

It is a common side effect of antihistamines.

Piriton will make you sleepy, as Sqad says. Try a 'non drowsy' antihistamine.. I take Claritin one a day and it works well for me. Have a word with your local pharmacist.

I agree with 'my mate' Lottie, lol. Boots own non drowsy antihistamines are the same as Claritin & usually cheaper. At the moment they're bogof.

thanks I knew they would make me feel a bit tired just thought those effects would have long worn off by now will give the claritin a try instead.

Piriton...that makes me sooo sleepy and even worse....it puts me in a foul mood for the entire following day. really makes me grumpy.

evedawn thats exactly what I was like also had very dry throat and empty feeling in my stomach only just feeling right this morning nearly 30 hours after taking one tablet! whats strange is Ive taken these before and have never felt effects as bad as that,would rather suffer with the hay fever than feel the way I did yesterday.

trionam. I have now come back from the pharmacist with Piriton. Clariton are just not working for me any more as she has recommended I take Pirition for just a couple of days whilst my hay fever is so bad. I have never had it like this before.

Good luck lofty hope you feel better with them then I did,Im wondering now did the heat have any effect when I took them making the drowsiness worse? I am feeling better though so far so good would be almost afraid to try them again will see how I go.
