Gas Barbecue

I have quite a large gas barbecue with three burners. My worst nightmare would be to run out of butane while cooking. Anyone any tips on how to tell whats remaining or am I better off buying another cylinder as a spare

If you run out of gas cook the meat under the grill on your cooker

Thanks for your constructive answers Eddie 51 and Clanad although your link doesn't have very good reviews. Have decided to keep a spare to be on the safe side.
