I thought there were times when Gerrard should have passed for maximum opportunity at goal and he didn't.
They give all at the beginning - 1st 10-15 mins then they don't seem to loosen up, they panic when the ball is in shooting half and aim for a goal instead of playing it coolly that the ball is in potential range of gaol, let's get best opportunity, pass it etc like other teams seem to do, who show better control and are more relaxed and thus more skillful.
And then the team show an uncomfortableness when the ball is in the opponent's shooting area and suddenly the team show their incohesion and disarray by not defending oppenent's players adequately. They need to get on top of their own ego's and learn to chill out and play as team.

good football analysis - your much better than that Alan Hansen on £1.5 million per week.
Would it be correct to describe the players as psychologically overweight or obese - and thereby unfit for purpose ?
i sense that there was also disharmony in the squad, and with the manager - factions and frictions - they werent mentally right ?

Oh Olddutch - I've often thought that I'm worth more than 1.5 million - per week? I would put that figure on a life-time but per week is good enough.
I told you on other thread, it's all down to the birthday dispute. It's not good for anyone to have a birthday during the World Cup - players and managers should be vetted in this respect. Or only those one's who never celebrate should be allowed?
And psychologically overweight? Are you suggesting that their heads were on the verge of bursting? I can't answer that - that is discrimination.
