Can TalkTalk screw it up again!!!
8 Answers
A few weeks ago we had an error of judgement and believed an advert we saw on the TV, how foolish I can you all saying!!
A friend told us that she had switched to TalkTalk but after being disconnected from her previous supplier a fortnight later, she was then told by TalkTalk that it would take a further 2 weeks to get her router, that's 2 weeks without a connection.
For some silly reason we decided to go for the same package. We were then disconnected after 2 weeks and no sign of a router, so we phoned TalkTalk to be told that they have no routers and would need to wait another 2 weeks!
OK I need to cut this short, we had to buy a router at PC world, they then disconnected us again due to them screwing up our account and we then had to open another account, another 2 weeks without service and still no router been delivered. they eventually caught up with themselves, we now have 5 routers and a connection that has given us nothing but problems. TalkTalk continue to advertise and accept contracts knowing that they will not give you a router for 4 weeks, however they don't tell you that bit when they sign you up and tell you that you will be live in 14 days. The second time we signed up, they told us we would be live in the next few weeks!!! They really are a joke!!!

Many phone calls and five days later they told us they had mistakenly cancelled our account!! and would have to start from scratch again.
We found them so totally unprofessional, like dealing with a load of foolish amateurs.

Virtually all my family and friends are on talk talk and none of us have ever had any problems. In my own case every thing was handled by them mac numbers etc, router arrived about a fortnight before change over, about 5 days before change over I recieved a letter containing any codes I would need also stating that I could be off line for up to 24 hours from 09.00. On the day In question we came in from shopping about 12.00 tried it and got straight on line. had no problems at all since

You must be extremely unlucky, I have just signed up with talktalk on their broadband free for 12 months package (essentials package). I filled in the online speed test for my area on 7 June, someone called me on 8 June to explain about the options and I agreed to the essentials package and they dealt with the rest, even cancelling my previous provider, one week later I got my router then another week later I went live (22 June), the only problem I have had is that my wifi usb connector is too slow for the modern router and I have to get a new one, which has nothing to do with talktalk, in the meantime I have to use a ethernet cable but only until tomorrow when I get my new connector, I have found them to be anything but a joke. Good Luck. Kath.
