downsizing pics

Hi, Can anybody explain to me how to reduce the size of my pics. For example, how would I reduce a 400KB pic to a size 100KB, many thanks in advance.

it wud depend on what ur file type is.  for example, a photoshop file is a lot of space.  all u have to do is resave it as a jpeg or a bitmap and it wud be a smaller file.

Most photomanipulation software will allow you to cut the file size by "optimizing" the picture. If you don't have anything suitable, Irfanview is free and easy to use (though not very pretty).

..merely resizing the pic to the size of your desktop or less would reduce the file size.......choosing "save as" a .jpg file would bring up a slider in most software which would allow you to reduce the quality (hence the file size) to whatever you want............
