Last night I did something unknown which caused my task bar which had previously been horizontal along the bottom of the screen to jump up vertically to the right side of the screen. I much preferred it along the bottom but cannot for the life of me sort out how to return it there. Can somebody help, please ?

Right mouse click on it and ensure 'lock taskbar' is deselected.  Then left mouse click on it and drag it back down to the bottom.  Once there right mouse click and select 'lock taskbar'.

Hope this works?

Thank you very much. Yes, it did work but in a curious way. I left clicked and attempted to drag it down about 25 times with no luck, then, suddenly, on another attempt but for no apparent reason, it was there !! Computers !! Thanks again.
once it's how you want, right-click a blank part of the taskbar and click "lock taskbar". stops you from doing it again :)
