Do you really need the Google toolbar? I manage without it just fine.
Uninstall the Google toolbar.

Yes I need the toolbar as I use some of it's finctions regularly, The dropdown box only stated doing so this morning, been fine up to now
In Google toolbar options, uncheck all but a few that you use.
Simple really, if you look through the tabs.
Keep popup blocker, highlight, maybe autofill, pre-fetching.
Highlight text in search box
Enter custom buttons you want.
Switch off everything else.

This won't solve the problem, I use the translate button on the tool bar to translate spanish to english. What has started happening is that when I open a site I get a drop down line below the toolbar asking if I want to translate 'English' This extra line only started appearing today. I.ve looked via 'tools' but cannot find how it arrived or how to stop it. It's infuriating !
