This is no way funny - but it is a festival story -
went to Glastonbury last year for the first time - camping off site ( am press, so get a hotel paid). Was directed to wrong car park at the end of Friday night - spent two hours looking for car - £60 taxi back to hotel, £40 taxi back to the festival on Saturday morning.
Found car - asked if i could park at the Yellow gate, as had to leave late Saturday night to drive home, to drive to london and fly to Canada for another festival on Sunday.
Six (count them - six!) people denied there was a Yellow Gate - must have been 'Orange' gate. Went there - no car. Check with security - phone call to Head office - car was left in 'bus lane' nad has been towed by RAC and impounded - they have left site, not returning until 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
No hotel - no camping gear, so a night in the Welfare Tent - freezing, on ground with two blankets and lots of 'lost souls'.
Sunday a.m. - RAC deny impounding any cars.
Enquire again about Chief Security Steward who authorised parking - blonde lady? - check, about twenty? - check.
Ask about Yellow Gate - advised it is a 'farm track' nothing like Orange Gate.
Decide to walk along to see it - find Yellow Gate.
It is an exact replica of Orange Gate in every way - except that my car is in the 'bus lane' where i left it.
Drive 190 miles home, arrive at 3:00 p.m. 3:45 p.m., drive 160 miles to London for overnight stay before flight to Canada.
Sleep like a dead person. Blisters on feet last three weeks.
Magic curses and plagues called down on RAC / festival security - ongoing.
