TTG I am just the same. If a gift is given with love then that is enough. It's worth means nothing. If I really like it then it's a bonus. I can't even get rid of things from years ago that people I love or care for have given me. Silly really I suppose.

I would have to tell him. If he loves you enough he should want you to be happy, after all its should last for many years. I've had mine 44 years and still love it. If he is unable to change it maybe you could possibly wear on your other hand and get the one you would like when you see it.
