Out boozing with ten bellies or beating up his poor Mrs, who has still tried to help him after all this time. You can't help somebody who won't help themselves, He's a lost cause if you ask me, which was a shame coz the guy had talent that could have perhaps been passed on via him being a trainer/manager
I watched a documentary about Bobby Robson a week or so ago and they had interviewed Paul Gascoigne and he came across as a very emotional and fragile man. I think he went there with the best intentions in his mind and personally I wouldn't insult the guy for his honest if deluded attempt to help. The media will crucify him and I think he'll have his head in his hands today. But I wish him well.
Im sorry but I laughed all through that 'interview'-thay must have thought thay had struck gold-and boy they did.
Its nothing to do with him being a 'Geordie' -man if everyone though people from Scotland looked like Rab C we would be in a sorry state and everyone in the Home Nations would need medication !!
He is a poor soul -i know of a few -some change their lives around others dont/cant/wont -its life :(

Sad and embarrassing, no doubt about that. However, it's not exactly the first time that he's done something sad and embarrassing in public, so it's a little puzzling why anyone finds it surprising or even worthy of mention.
And it's certainly no less embarrassing than some of the drunken interviews with George Best or Oliver Reed - they weren't Geordies, as I recall...

I like Gazza----- top notch footballer , but a fool unto himself. Too many hangers on ,. who do not bring out the best in him.Think he has a naive trust in people and has been exploited by many others.
He now has serious issues e,g drinking , and the unstoppable urge to play the clown.
He has had a problem with relationships but , and this is not to make excuses here his wife and his daughter are both total slappers who saw him as a money machine-- so much for love eh?
He has a sincerity with regard to football and is suprisingly well thought of by others in the profession, in spite of all.
He is not the only celebrity by a long way to become caught up in a downward spiral of gambling , drugs , womanising or drinking.or whatever.
I feel desperately sorry that he behaves in the way that he does, but I remember always that there but for the grace of --- and so on.
