The next best SK novel for a good scare is 'Christine' - avoid the film.
KarenMac - yes, definitely has something nightmarish about it. Skins of the Fathers too, but nothing's ever gotten under my skin like In The Hills...
Ooh, I agree with ladyalex. The Woman In Black by Susan Hill is very scary! The film is pretty good too.
I can't actually remember any of the other stories, and I read them all. But that one really stuck with me, and I thought of it every time I saw this advert :)

Back in 1973, we were travelling round the States and I was reading In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote - scared the cr@p out of me!
Have to agree with "In Cold Blood", I went cold all over when I read the line - "I thought he was a very nice gentleman. Soft spoken. I thought so right up to the moment I cut his throat." Pet Semetary also gave me bad dreams for a long time afterwards.
as a child roal dahls th B.F.G scared the crap out of me !!!
The Rats and The Lair by James Herbert.............
silence of the lambs
...and The Fog.
Jaws..... aaarghhh!
The Other Side Of Nowhere by Daniella Westbrook
Being Jordan by katie whoever Price
I've never seen that ad... how bloody bizarre!
