deleating facebook account

one of my best friends has done this cos "she finds it boring"
its got me thinking im finding it a bit tedious has anyone done this or is thinking about it ?

I've thought about it , there are only a few people that interest me, some of the "friends" that I've picked up along the way are a bit of a pain, and I will either have to get rid of them or close the account. Don't know how to do that though.

its in your settings to close it im going to be doing a big cull this week or maybe get rid altogether im not sure yet

I've closed my account...........I used it to keep in touch with relatives in the US and NZ but I just use email now......can't be arsed with all the attendant crap on FB.

No I havent -I use it to keep in touch in the main with cousins in UK and USA.I dont have a lot of friends there only people I trust.
However in order to close its simple and doesmt have to be for public comsumption I wouldnt think unless you wanted to let family and friends your were closing down but I would assume you would have a more expensive way of keeping in touch and letting them know or am i missing somethihg ????

Isn't skype a good way to keep in touch, my daughter keeps in touch with some people in NZ that way.

I also use Skype to chat to my friend in the USA and family in Holland and South Africa. Very convenient because I can also SMS text them from Skype and have a 'landline' through Skype.

im just finding the appeal has gone maybe i might just use it once a week then after a couple of weeks to see if i will keep my account
