Question about reports about Muslims

Has the Daily Mail or Express ever accidentally printed a story which reflects positively on Muslims?

I recall back in 2001, there was a story in the Daily Mail which praised a gay councillor for taking a stand against local graffiti 'artists', and another the following year where a favourable report about a black headmaster was published.

On both occasions, the reporters were rightly sacked for breaching the newspaper's code of conduct.

But has the same happened with Muslims yet?

The chap who run our local supermarket ran the London marathon in aid of a battered woman's hospice. Not exactly newsworthy, but positive nontheless.

Oh, and Shazia Mirza is becoming a rather excellent comedian.

And Amir Khan did a nice job defending his title a couple of months back.

And Rima Fakih is arguably the third most beautiful woman in the world (with Halle Berry and Zhang Ziyi obviously taking first and second place).

I was told in an earlier post that there are 1.8 billion people who fall under Islam, well that's 4 out of that figure for the credit side, anyone wants to start a debit side?

I could trawl the net for positive stories about Muslims, and you could do the same re: negative stories, but I fear we would both be wasting our time because positive stories rarely get printed in the UK press (because, let's be frank - that's not the narrative that gets good copy)

On the contrary the ethnic minorities get very favourable coverage from the British media.

They will pan their cameras onto them at any event that they are generally in the minority.

The VIPs will head for them, in schools especially, so as to be shown chatting to them in front of the cameras, while the white children take a back seat.

The media like nothing more to cheer on non-white sportsmen and women.

They love to announce the first 'Black/Muslim Chief Constable', 'the first Black/Muslim Peer' the first 'whatever they have never been before' etc etc.
