Loads of people recommended 'Perfume' to me but it really did nothing for me. Again I just found it impossible to get involved with any of the characters and really did not care what happened to them.

Dickens so dreary
Trollope is twee
The brontes ....too fevered
And Elliots not for me
Mockingbird, Catcher etc can't be fluffed
Mostly the classics can go and get stu***d
If I spend my time with a book I'd repeat
I want to be kept on the edge of my seat...
So don't give me shakespeare or Wilde or the rest
A nice bloody murder suits me the best

Quite enjoyed Wells, and didn't mind Dahl
Suitably strange she said with a smile
Loved Bradbury Wyndham and Azimov too
Spent most of my teens with an alien or two
Moved onto writers with feminist bent
Half of the time didn't know what they meant
Found Tom Holt and Pratchett
Much more fun to read
