All the E-mails have disappeared from my inbox while I was reading them. A message came up saying a view was applied. All the other items such as sent mail and deleted etc are still there. I wonder if anyone can help me retrieve them in an easy way. I am 84 and do not know a lot about computers, and I am finding it rather expensive to keep calling in the experts. Thanks in advance

"a view is applied" means you have asked it to show just a selection of mails, possibly thoses form the last month or those that had attachments.

You need to remove this view but you haven't said what email client you are using (outlook, outlook express, a web based one) so it is tricky to help.

Outlook Express via Virgin
Click View/Current view/Show all messages
I have found in the past that whenever I have had computer issues (mercifully few) there are people om this site who are very knowledgeable and who happily give the benefit of their experience freely. Providing you give full information, there will always be someone out here who can help.

Thank you rojash I have clicked on view but I have no current view/show all messages. What can I do next
Question Author
Sorry rojax you were right. I pressed view on the google page but realised I should have pressed view on the E-mail page. Yes they are all there but how they go back to there proper place I do not know. Thank you very much I am very grateful to you
You can sort them by clicking on the tops of each column .. By date (received) Subject, From, etc.
Probably best to keep by Received (with newest at top)
Hope sorted for you.
