Before the murders he was unknown and now he's hailed as a hero. Why is this, because of intense police hatred? He wasn't exactly a robin Hood figure so I find this difficult to understand.

The scum of the UK feel they have something in common with him and want to support a fellow criminal. Most of those who expressed support for him are of below average intelligence, you can tell that from the many quotes in the papers etc.

I agree with Daffy, those who blindly support the criminal rather than the victim not only exhibit a lack of intelligence but usually show signs of paranoia. Their lacking in empathy renders them incapable of lateral thinking and conducting a reasoned discussion.

ELVIS68 All this support for him occurred before there was any question of him being mentally unstable and I must say he didn't sound disturbed to me.
His state of mind was only made public yesterday after that recording where he was asking for help.
All that support and anti police rhetoric occurred immediately he shot himself .
What justification was there for the victims being abused on Facebook ?
What society are we that glories in the attack on an unarmed man leaving him blinded for life.?

The above answers may well be right, but nothing has still explained why they back Moat and not other notorious murderers, such as the bloke who killed all those folk in Cumbria a fortnight before, or the Crossbow killer, or indeed hundreds iof others sadly.

I haven't wasted my time visiting the 'pro moat' Facebook page but I understand the 20,000 posters frequently quoted actually includes as many anti posters as pro.

Zeuhl, I looked at it, and I would say it was far higher than half the posters on that group were anti the group and posting to say how sick it was.

Of course that doesn't sound so good on the news so they spin the truth to make it sound better (as normal)

He seems to have turned into some sort of Rambo figure in some people's minds - all very sad. I wouldn't call him a hero, he sounded an unpleasant vicious man, whether or not he had family problems, he obviously wasn't a man who could control his temper.
